Dear Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to address you as the Editor-in -Chief of our prestigious Journal. I remain immensely grateful to members of NAOMS for the confidence you have in me, and for giving me the opportunity to paddle the canoe of the Journal Office for the next two years.
I wish to acknowledge the effort of our numerous colleagues who labored tirelessly to bring NJOMS to its present state. No doubt a lot of sleepless nights have gone into what we have. Needless to mention the financial and time recourses invested.
As I take up this mantle, I count on the continual support of our fantastic Editorial Board in building faithfully on the existing foundation and ensuring the survival and upliftment of the NJOMS. This mission is of great importance for the following reasons:

Our peer review process helps to develop publication skills and bring out the best in everyone.
As the NJOMS continue to evolve through different processes, we are optimistic that our submission and review process will go from being “e-mail based” to “website based”. The inclusion of active reviewers and Section Editors should improve our review and consequently publication speed.
Some of these innovations could mean more financial commitment, but on the long run we would be the better for it. I trust that our collective interest in seeing NJOMS to a greater height and commitment to excellence is strong enough to bring everyone on board this progressive train.
